About the event
This evening’s Global Infusions will be a celebration of all things Japan!
The space will be set up to have a loungey, musical, cultured teahouse vibe. Bring a friend, a date, or just yourself, and come enjoy the atmosphere!
Artist of the evening: Miwa
Miwa's mother was a senior master of shamisen and kouta and she passed her love for Japanese traditional music to Miwa.
Miwa began studying koto in the Yamada school at age 9 in Fukushima, Japan. When Miwa moved to Colorado in 1996, she continued her study under Yoko Hiraoka, a senior master performer of Japanese string instruments in the Ikuta school. Miwa has performed at a wide variety of public and private events throughout Colorado. In addition to koto and shamisen, she also enjoys taiko drumming.
We will be pairing Miwa’s special sounds with various delicious teas native to Japan.
